Meet The Staff


Dr. Ashley Flowers

After receiving a Bachelor of Science degree in Biology along with a Minor in Chemistry from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, Dr. Ashley Flowers attended the UNC-CH School of Dentistry and received her degree as Doctor of Dental Surgery in May of 2009. Prior to coming to Sparta, North Carolina to practice dentistry, Dr. Flowers has worked at the the Piedmont Health Services Dental Clinic in Carrboro, North Carolina, the Fayetteville VA Medical Center in Fayetteville, North Carolina, the Hamilton Health Clinic in Harrisburg Pennsylvania, the Dontated Dental Services Clinic in Salt Lake City, Utah, and an orphanage dental clinic in Miacatlan, Mexico. Dr. Flowers has also been a long time volunteer with the Missions of Mercy free weekend dental clinics held around the state. 




Rebecca Cox

Front Office Manager and Certified Dental Assistant

Rebecca graduated from Wilkes Community College in 2004 from the dental assisting program. After passing the Dental Assisting National Boards and receiving her CDA credentials, she began working in the dental clinic for the Appalachian District Health Department and stayed there for 6 years before coming to work for Ashley Flowers Family Dentistry in the spring of 2010. Her job is to work with patients to coordinate their care, manage patient accounts, answer questions about patient treatment plans, and help keep the office running smoothly. What Rebecca likes most about her job is helping people when they are in need.

Nichola Williams

Registered Dental Hygienist and Certified Dental Assistant

Nichola graduated from Wytheville Community College in 1996 with a dental assisting degree and in 2000 with a dental hygiene degree. Her duties include, but are not limited to, dental xrays, clinical assessment of patients, sealants, fluoride, periodontal charting and maintenance, and periodontal treatment using Arestin. Nichola also performs dental cleanings for adults and children, patient education, and soft tissue management. She strives to make all her patients feel comfortable and to give the best patient care possible.

Savanah Love

Certified Dental Assistant

Savanah graduated from Wilkes Community College in 2011 with a diploma in dental assisting. She was the sole recipient of the X-ray Excellence Award and the Outstanding Chairside Dental Assisting Award. After passing the Dental Assisting National Boards, she became a Certified Dental Assistant. She maintains her certification by attending classes throughout the year. With these classes, she learns about new and improved dental techniques and products which, in turn, helps her better care for our patients. Savanah’s favorite thing about being a dental assistant is to help care for her patients and watch them walk out the door with a smile on their face.

Greta Sawyers

Greta attended Wytheville Community College and graduated with a certificate in dental assisting. After working as a CDA for 4 years, she returned to WCC and received her Associates in Applied Science in Dental Hygiene in 2000. Since graduation, Greta has worked as a full time hygienist in Winston-Salem, NC. Greta came to Dr. Flowers’ office in 2011 as part time hygienist. She has enjoyed seeing the patients at Dr. Flowers’ office and looks forward to providing quality care and helping future patients maintain a healthy and beautiful smile for years to come.

Jennifer Bourne

Jennifer graduated from Wytheville Community College in 2011 with an Associates of Applied Science in Dental Hygiene. She provides cleanings for adults and children of all ages, in addition to sealants, fluoride treatments, periodontal evaluation and treatment, and X-rays. Throughout the year she takes continuing education courses to maintain her licensure in both Virginia and North Carolina and to further her education. What she enjoys most about her job is building relationships with the patients and helping them to achieve their best smile.
